The focus of our research is on the application and further development of optical
measurement techniques in context of engine combustion research. Particularly laser
diagnostics is applied to optically accessible research engines to analyze mixture formation,
ignition as well as the combustion process and emissions. In our projects we often work
together with industrial partners.
We are looking for staff supporting us with the following issues:

  • Optical measurement techniques (further development, application to optical accessible research engines)
  • Emissions from the combustion of biofuels.

The focus of the work is on the analysis of mixture formation, ignition and combustion of
biofuels by means of laser-induced fluorescence, high-speed cinematography and
spectroscopy.

Your profile:
You have graduated in engineering sciences (Diploma or Master Degree) in mechanical
engineering, energy, environmental or process engineering.
Ideally you are experienced in optical measurement techniques or combustion engines.
You are able to work independently, you are committed and you are able to work in a team.

We offer:
You actively participate in research projects and industrial projects concerning futureoriented
topics in a young team and you are particularly involved in the research activities of
our Bayreuth Engine Research Center. You will find an interesting and pleasant environment
with a balance of chances and challenges.
You have the opportunity of combining your engineering research with a PhD attainment.
We support your personal development which later opens most attractive opportunities in
the labor market.
We are disposed to employ you full time for a stipulated period and pay you according to
the appropriate pay scale table (TV-L).
The University of Bayreuth is an equal opportunity employer. Applications from women are
encouraged. Applications from challenged individuals with equal qualification will be given
preferences.
